Relaxin' in an Easy Chair

Guess what I bought! A stamp-and-die combo I could not pass up. This easy chair is so sweet! And when I saw it I knew that the pillow could be paper-pieced and that is just what I did. Confession time: I have dies and stamps in my collection that have never been used :(
Which makes me wonder why I bought them. So today I used these while they were new and fresh and I know they will be used often.

S & S Midweek Challenge: Transportation

After 2 days of delving into my ancestry, it was a pleasure to create a card for this challenge! We are also in the midst of a bathroom remodel and Princess Chloe (see photo at left) is having a hard time of it with the loud noises and those strange men coming in and out. So we took a creative time-out.
First, I looked through all my digital stamps to find a mode of transportation and came up with this vintage collage. I guess it is a type of carriage (?) Oh! Just remembered I have a camel stamp. That would work, too. Maybe?
I used OWH Sketch # 160.

ODBD May Challenge: Missing You

Here I used more of one of my fave 6x6 paper pads and decided to let the sentiment be the star.
Thanks, Our Daily Bread Designs, for sponsoring 2 boxes of cards for Operation Write Home!

Unscripted Sketches # 209

Here's my card for the Saturday Challenge at Unscripted Sketches. I still have paper left in one of my well-used 6x6 pads and I know what to do with it ;)

DPDC33: Use a Doodle Pantry Image

This is my first card using this great precolored digital stamp
from Doodle Pantry. I cropped the digi a little too large, but I like the way it turned out. The DP is from a 6x6 paper pad "Kraft Fun Day" by My Mind's Eye. This card will be used in the current DPDC33.
I hope you like it! And come join the fun at Doodle Pantry ;)

26 Cards from one 6x6 Designer Paper Pad!

My intention was to create as many cards as possible until one paper pad was completely used up.
Here is the result! Not all cards are shown as a few were already sent to OWH. I followed the tutorial at the Operation Write Home site and it was so much fun!! It went pretty fast since I began with several matching card stock papers purchased using a scrap of the paper pad design to find the closest match. The embellishments/sentiments were ones on hand. I thought I was finished when I completed the cards with long strips of paper and "inchie" squares using leftover scraps (see far upper left)...then I found more of the paper on my ultra-messy desk and made the last card with Mr & Mrs Gnome (middle right).
You gotta try this!!!

S & S Midweek Challenge: Recipe Mix

This is my kind of recipe (I'm not exactly a gourmet cook). I was in the middle of working through a 6x6 paper pad per the tutorial at Operation Write Home when I saw this challenge, so I used some of the paper.
Here's the recipe:

2 Patterned Papers: "Gnome Sweet Gnome" paper pad by My Mind's Eye

S & S Midweek Challenge: Cards 4 Kids

Great challenge!! I opened one of my 6x6 pads for this card and plan to continue using this pad for at least 20 more cards of different designs. I have a small collection of these pads and I love working with them. This one has two-sided paper. YAY!

Shopping Our Stash Challenge 80

This timely challenge ("Winter Holiday)" was great fun. I purchased two matching 12x12 designer paper/stickers when the Christmas goodies first arrived at my local scrapbook store. These beauties caught my attention and I looked at them daily wondering how to create cards as beautiful as the paper and sticker sheet. Well, I checked online and figured it out. Here's my creation using only the paper and sticker sheet (My Mind's Eye "All is Bright" collection), CANDi (the 3 red dots), and dimensional adhesive under the angel sticker.

My Mind's Eye Card-Making Frenzy

Since I used papers from the MME pad "Moments" to create a card for Sketch # 147, I have been creating more cards using these patterned papers and having a blast! I only have a few scraps left, maybe enough for one more card for OWH. And I love this sentiment.

The kitchen table is my temporary work space, so it needs to get emptied of crafting items before our belated Thanksgiving on Saturday. So I am using pieces of this and that to make more cards instead of stashing 'em.

Happy Thanksgiving to one and all and thanks for stopping by!

Here's the Sunday Sketch over at Operation Write Home. And this is my interpretation. I realize it is a little crooked. I am working on a second one which will be more better!

S & S Midweek Challenge

This week, OWHer's are creating masculine cards! I deem this one masculine because of the manly Designer Paper I used. This card will also be entered into the Shopping Our Stash challenge #66 to use one of our favorite crafting items. This owl stamp is one of my favorite things because she is adorable, the googly eyes fit perfectly, and I can paper piece her!
The DP is from the Kraft Funday paper pad by My Mind's Eye, the owl stamp is by The Stamps of Life, the little brown circles are Candi, and the sentiment is from the Nutty forYou digital stamp collection by Doodle Pantry. Hope you like it!

S&S Midweek Challenge

Today the Operation Write Home peeps are challenged to make Cards of Encouragement. Since the sentiment I used would encourage me if I received this card in the mail, I decided it would work.
My husband chose the designer paper pad called "Kraft Funday" by My Mind's Eye. Probably would not have been my choice, but I have made a few cards using these masculine, heavy designer papers and I like the look. The gold CS is Bazzill, colored DP from a paper pad "Max and Whiskers" by BasicGrey, the embossing folder by Cuttlebug, circle dies are Spellbinders, the bling by Mark Richards, and the digital sentiment from Create with TLC. The embossed aluminum paper is the insert from a flavored coffee package. The colors are brighter in person!
