This card was created using the "creasing, distressing, and sanding" technique to add a grid to patterned paper. After my first look at the video, I thought this would be difficult. But I pulled out my scoring tools and tried it anyway. I like it! I do not like the way the placement of the paper pieces ended up, but the truth is I was in a rush to see if I could put it together. I will take my time on my next card using this technique.
All patterned papers are scraps from my stash.

Pattern Play Day 3
This was a fun way to use one of my favorite 12x12 patterned papers on a card. This class is bringing out the best in my (limited) creative skills!

Pattern Play Day 1 using OWH Sketch #164
Wow! I learned so much on this first day of class :) I have been creating cards using patterned papers for a couple of years and now I know some tips and tricks to make them even better.
This card uses sketch #164 from www.operationwritehome.org. I have chosen one "large" pattern which I carefully trimmed to center the design. The reverse side of this designer paper is the "small" pattern of white dots-on-green. The "solid" lighter green is a scrap from my stash.
Designer Paper: "Butterfly Kisses" by Three Bugs in a Rug
Backgrond Paper: my stash
Button Brads: Hobby Lobby
Sentiment: Studio G
Black Ink: "Dragonfly Black" by ColorBox
Paper Trimmer: Fiskars
