A place to celebrate my creative spirit with card making for Operation Write Home, my love for the best husband a girl could have and for my dear Princess Kitty Chloe, and the abundance of Divine Blessings in my life. ODBD April Challenge: Insects
When I realized that a butterfly is an insect, I was happy to enter this challenge at Operation Write Home.
When I completed creating my daughter-in-law's card for her first Mother's Day, I made this simple card with the leftover patterned paper. The wings are raised with dimensionals.

TMS #207
It's Tuesday, and I've spent the last few minutes (closer to an hour!) working on a card for the current Tuesday Morning Sketch with a Twist: Use an Animal Image.
Chloe is my cat. And though she has the coloring of a Siamese in the body of a Domestic Short Hair--and looks nothing like this kitty--I love all cats and really love the collection of cat images including this orange kitty, from Clearly Digi Stamps.
Addendum: Thanks, Tuesday Morning Sketches, for choosing this card as a "Top 5" winner!! Kitty says thanks, too :)
Image and Sentiment: 'Kitties and Things' pre-colored digi collection by Clearly Digi Stamps
Colored CS: Bazzill
Twine: Doodlebug Design
Button Brads: Hobby Lobby
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug
Cloud Die (w/sentiment): 'Puffy Clouds' by Memory Box

Unscripted Sketches #216
Here I used one of my current favorite clear stamp sets from Stampin' Up!: French Foliage. This is a versatile collection of stamps that I will use again and again. I like this sketch, too!
The paper is from my stash. Ink: Stamp Cabana (dark red and green), Ranger Distress (wild honey), Border Die "Savannah Border" by Memory Box. Note: the 3rd row down is a different paper than the other rows. It was supposed to be more obvious (!)

One Sheet Wonder
Thank you, Seongsook, for sharing this tutorial with Operation Write Home!! I couldn't wait to try it and here is the result. First, I located one of my all-time favorite double-sided patterned 12x12 papers that I had "saved" in my special place for at least a couple of years. I made a small mistake cutting it out, but was still able to make 8 cards. I found coordinating paper at my LSS, Of the Heart, and put everything together today. What fun!

S & S Midweek Challenge: Thank You
Here's a different sort of card for me featuring die cuts using my Cuttlebug. This was really fun to make and I am feeling just a wee bit creative after putting all the pieces together!
This card is also entered in the Unscripted Sketches Challenge # 208, a web site I discovered yesterday. As the name implies, there is a weekly sketch challenge. This one was tricky, but I like the way it turned out ;)

Buckle Die and Woodland Branch: Memory Box
Nestled Bird Die: Poppy Stamps
Yellow Cardstock: Bazzill
Square Punch: Family Treasures

Shopping Our Stash Challenge 64
Technique Time: Try something new or revisit an oldie! This challenge came at the right time as I tried a new technique this weekend but haven't made a card with it until today. I tea stained a piece of white card stock. It is easy to do and I love the results. Use about 1/4 cup boiling water, pour over a tea bag (I used plain Lipton tea), wait a little until it cools. Then squeeze out most of the water and dab on the card stock until you get the the effect you want. Let dry overnight.
I stamped the winter collage (by Memory Box) using brown ink, and tore and inked the edges. The dark brown and blue DP's are from my stash. I used chalk for the blue bird then added blue pencil. Also used pencils to add hints of green and red on the branches. I still think the card is missing something. Any ideas?
